What’s So Amazing About Grace?

- Mark and Nancy Hurt

Grace is the church's great gift to the world, says Yancey. But do Christians really understand grace--and if we do, then why do we experience and show so little of it? This class will set grace in the midst of life's stark, often brutal realities to help discover the power of God's unrelenting love for sinners. It is the intent of this class to help students apply the discoveries and challenges contained in Yancey's book, “What’s So Amazing About Grace.”

Genesis
- Gayle Richmond

Why study one of the oldest books in the world in these fast-paced new times? Because in the Book of Origins are to be found the roots that can keep us nourished in a secular world. In Genesis we discover "the origins of the universe, the origin of marriage, the origin of sin, the origin of death, the beginning of redemption, the introduction of judgment, the origin of the covenant." And since all such issues are still very much a part of life today this book is as relevant as the time in which it was written.

Join Beth Moore in a 12 week faith-building study for women, and learn how to shine for Christ in our modern culture. Just as the prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressures—to compromise his faith, to live in a hostile culture, and to confront temptations and threats—today’s believers face many of the same trials.

Developing a Christian Worldview
- David Steele

Want to influence your world for Christ? Want to strengthen your worldview so you can? What is a worldview? We all have one. It is the filter or lens through which we view the world around us. Your worldview reflects your values, commitments, and understanding of truth and the purpose of life. The class will consider the history of various philosophies of thought through the centuries and how they relate to a godly, biblical worldview. Attention will be given to help each student develop their worldview and know how to decipher the world around them in light of that worldview. This class will deeply consider how we can communicate effectively regarding other systems of thought as we encounter them.

Developing Spiritual Maturity -201
- Rich Saxton

Just as an athlete's entire life is devoted to the discipline of exercise, practice, diet, rest, etc. to result in the attainment of excellence, so a Christian's spiritual maturity and Christlikeness is not an accident but must be an ongoing intentional activity. Join this study where we explore the disciplines of the faith and discard the idea that discipline is an onerous duty and move toward a liberating and simpler idea of discipline--whose defining character is joy.

Life and Writings of C.S. Lewis
- Doug Eglen

Clive Staples "Jack" Lewis, commonly referred to as C. S. Lewis, was an Irish author and scholar. From poetry to science fiction, defenses of the Christian faith to sanctified fantasy C.S. Lewis had a gift of communicating the gospel effectively to the ‘common person.’ He is best known today for his series ‘The Chronicles of Narnia.’
This class will explore both the life and the writings of this author. The fact that this brilliant agnostic came to recognize the validity first of Theism, and then of Christianity, provides an amazing study. Spiritual topics raised through this literary legend’s words are sure to spark debate, strike profound chords, and change lives.
